I'm Alive!

Greetings from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

So . . . it's been awhile. I kind of dropped off the face of the planet there, didn't I? I mean, it was only three weeks, but still. That's like, thirty effin' years in the blogging world. I was actually emailed (more than once! Yay, I have friends.) inquiring as to why this there hadn't been any new posts and had I been kidnapped and left for dead, body dumped unceremoniously in the Louisiana bayou.

No friends: I'm still here. Alive, and (almost) in one piece. (I got a pretty bad muscle strain whilst playing kickball with some athletic Alabamans circa St. Patrick's Day. It still kinda hurts. Also: kickball rules.)

The truth is that I'm one badass busy motherfucker lady. (<-- Don't pretend you don't see the Pulp Fiction reference here. Just. Don't.) This tour is A LOT more strenuous than our European jaunt last year and I'm feeling the burn: in the last eleven days, we've been in three states and five cities. Dan's played four shows and I've driven twenty-five hours, eleven of them consecutively. Writing has, unfortunately, fallen slightly by the wayside as we whirl our way around the country. But!

. . . I haven't forgotten about you, my dear bloggy friends! Far from it. I've been thinking about this blog every day, actually, for hours a day, about what I get out of it and about what I hope you get out of it. I've got a few changes coming that I hope you'll like as much as I do.

In the meantime, have a good weekend!
Bye!

    1. Hi Nancy! The southwest is lovely - the pinyon pine, the succulents, the way the colors of the mountain change over the course of the day; it's just incredible. It's totally YOU: the silver jewelry, the turquoise . . . I can definitely see you living here! Dan and I are doing our best to enjoy the time we have here - lots of hugs to you, too! xo

  2. Didn't a tornado try to eat you guys during some of your driving? And didn't your almost-husband decide to get older a few days ago? I'd say you're excused ;)

I hope that the new "changes" you've got coming include new technology that will enter your thoughts directly on this blog, so that when you think about this blog, it'll actually mean something to your loyal readers like me. And we'll actually believe you and not think you're just making excuses >:(

    1. Correct! A tornado DID try to eat us while we were driving from Dallas to Albuquerque. Twice! And twice we were able to escape its evil wrath.

And my almost-husband did decide to get older a few days ago! 'Twas a merry day.

As for the new changes, perhaps I can be a tester for those new virtual Google glasses so that I can just "write" blog posts with my voice. As I'm driving through tornadoes.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely d---OH MY GOD DAN PLEASE GRAB THE WHEEL OR WE'RE GONNA DIEEEEEEE. We just got back from having ice cream, and now we're enjoying an interesting drive through a tornado. Have you ever driven through a tornado? Well--- heymaybeweshouldgetouttathecarandhideinthatshelterovertherewhatdoyouthink?"

Only it'd be cooler when you did it, cause you're funnier than I am ;)
